About Me

I am from Norðurhaga in Austur Húnavatnssýsla. I am married and have 4 children. I am a very energetic and driven individual, unafraid to try new things and always seeking all possible ways to solve the tasks set before me.

I have been playing with computers since a young age. Before university, I had already set up an environment for myself using Hyper-V for experimenting at home, backed up with Veeam. Human interactions have always been easy for me, and I consider myself to be a good team player.

During my time at Reykjavik University, I have worked with many programming languages, but my preference would be C#, though that is likely based on my knowledge level there. I am an experienced Software Engineer, SRE, and DevOps professional with over 8 years of experience in system architecture, infrastructure management, and software development. I specialize in building scalable systems using modern technologies including Kubernetes, Terraform, and Azure DevOps, with a strong background in C# and Microsoft SQL Server, along with expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.

Both my electrical engineering education and part-time firefighter training are well underway. To complete the firefighter certification, I need to take a weekend course and undergo a medical examination. In electrical engineering, I have 3 semesters remaining (one and a half years). To explain the partially completed education, I tried applying to HR and got accepted, which left the other studies partially unfinished.

While working as a prison guard at Kvíabryggja (an Icelandic free-roaming prison), I used the nights to create a payroll system with two combined Excel files and small additions using Visual Basic. To my knowledge, this system is still in use today. I am passionate about creating efficient, reliable systems and committed to continuous learning and professional growth.
